Adhikari has set a target of establishing the schools in every district, municipality and panchayat within the stipulated period.

Focus on Murshidabad, South 24 Parganas

The Chief Minister has urged Vidya Bharati to establish more schools in Murshidabad and South 24 Parganas, which he described as districts witnessing "more anti-national activities".

Speaking at Vidya Bharati's 74th anniversary at the Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture, Adhikari appealed to the organisation to promote what he described as "nationalistic learning".

Proposal to merge education departments

Adhikari also suggested a plan to merge all four educational departments of the state. He said there would be no separate admission procedure for madrasas under the proposed system.

The Chief Minister accused the previous Trinamool Congress government of altering the syllabus in a manner that, he alleged, was intended to create divisions among people.

'Maa' versus 'Amma' reference

Citing an example from the curriculum, Adhikari referred to the use of the word "Amma" instead of "Maa" for "Mother", alleging that such changes reflected the communal politics he claimed was promoted by the previous TMC government.

The TMC government was voted out of power last summer, he said.

'Ek desh, ek bidhan, ek nishan, ek pradhan'

Invoking Syama Prasad Mookerjee's slogan, "ek desh, ek bidhan, ek nishan, ek pradhan", Adhikari said the principle would also be applied to the education department.

He suggested that all universities would function under a common administrative umbrella, with no exceptions.

At present, Aliah University is managed by the Minority Affairs Department.
