Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday inaugurated ‘Bharat Innovates 2026’ at the Palais des Expositions in Nice alongside French President Emmanuel Macron, highlighting that the ongoing technological revolution in the digital age presents new opportunities for humanity.

During his address, Prime Minister Modi underscored the strength of Indo-French cooperation, citing key initiatives such as the International Solar Alliance, as well as growing collaboration in Artificial Intelligence and efforts to promote stability and security in the Indo-Pacific region.

Marking the ongoing India–France Year of Innovation, Modi said Bharat Innovates represents another milestone in the shared commitment of both nations to contribute to global progress and innovation.

Referring to India’s rapid start-up expansion, reflected in the deep-tech solutions showcased at the event, the Prime Minister highlighted the transformative potential of AI, satellite technology for rural development, advanced manufacturing for sustainable living, green hydrogen, battery technologies, and electric mobility in driving clean and inclusive growth.

He urged innovators, investors, and entrepreneurs to develop technologies that are trusted, inclusive, and human-centric, emphasizing that start-ups should be evaluated not only by market valuation but also by their impact on humanity.

Calling this the core message of Bharat Innovates, Modi invited global stakeholders to partner with India in co-creating the next chapter of global innovation.

The Prime Minister also interacted with start-ups and innovators working across frontier sectors including quantum computing, semiconductors, biotechnology, defence, space, healthcare, medtech, advanced materials, and clean energy.

The exhibition showcased India’s deep-tech ecosystem on a global platform, featuring 120 pioneering start-ups and more than 20 Institutes of Excellence across 13 critical technology domains.

The three-day event brings together Indian innovators, researchers, and investors with global venture capital firms, with over 350 top investors from around the world participating in the summit.
