Apple Unveils 'Siri AI' Powered by Apple Intelligence. Who can use it?

| @indiablooms | Jun 09, 2026, at 03:16 pm

Tech giant Apple on Monday introduced Siri AI, a completely redesigned version of Siri powered by its new Apple Intelligence system, marking a major leap in conversational AI capabilities across its ecosystem.

Described as a “profoundly more capable and conversational assistant,” Siri AI combines personal context awareness, broad world knowledge, and onscreen understanding to help users get things done more intuitively. The assistant can answer questions, retrieve information from messages, emails, photos, and apps, and deliver real-time web-based responses across a wide range of topics.

Smarter, More Personal Assistant

Apple said Siri AI is designed to understand user context deeply, enabling it to surface relevant personal information—such as restaurant recommendations shared by friends, hotel booking details from emails, or photos from recent trips.

The assistant also extends its capabilities into third-party apps, allowing users to perform actions like drafting emails, editing photos, and sharing content seamlessly across platforms.

According to Apple’s Senior Vice President of Software Engineering Craig Federighi, Siri AI represents “a dramatically more capable and conversational assistant designed to help users find information and get things done throughout the day.”

Key Features of Siri AI

Siri AI introduces several new capabilities, including:

Onscreen awareness: Understands and responds to content displayed on the screen

Personal context understanding: Uses data from emails, messages, photos, and apps

World knowledge integration: Provides up-to-date answers from the web

Conversational interaction: Supports natural, back-and-forth dialogue

System-wide actions: Performs tasks across apps, including writing, editing, and sharing content

For example, users can ask Siri to suggest what to bring for an event based on a message or automatically add recipes to Notes from a conversation.

Deep System Integration Across Devices

Siri AI is integrated across Apple’s ecosystem, including iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Apple Vision Pro, CarPlay, and AirPods.

On iPhone, Siri can be accessed via voice, the side button, or Dynamic Island

On iPad and Mac, it is integrated into Spotlight search and system menus

On Apple Vision Pro, Siri supports spatial interaction with 3D visualisation

On Apple Watch, users can continue conversations via Smart Stack suggestions

A new dedicated Siri app also allows users to revisit and continue conversations across devices using iCloud syncing.

Visual Intelligence and Writing Tools

Siri AI introduces Visual Intelligence, enabling users to interact with visual content directly. On iPhone, users can point the camera at objects to get real-time information, such as nutritional details or travel suggestions.

On iPad and Mac, users can select on-screen content and ask Siri questions directly, making visual search and interaction more seamless than ever.

Apple has also integrated advanced Writing Tools, allowing Siri to generate, edit, and refine text across apps. The system can match a user’s tone, correct formatting automatically, and proofread content in real time.

Availability and Rollout

Siri AI is currently available for developer testing and will roll out in beta later this year across iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, visionOS 27, and watchOS 27.

Apple Intelligence supports multiple languages, including English, French, German, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese, and others, with expanded language support planned in future updates.

The features will initially be available on select devices, including iPhone 15 Pro and later models, iPad and Mac with M1 chips or newer, Apple Vision Pro, and Apple Watch Series 9 or later.

Apple noted that availability may vary by region, with some restrictions in the EU and China due to regulatory requirements.
