New Delhi/IBNS: Trouble could be mounting for fugitive diamond merchant Nirav Modi wanted in Punjab National Bank money laundering case as his sister and her husband have turned approver against him, said media reports.

Nirav Modi's sister Purvi Modi, a Belgian national, and her husband, Maiank Mehta, a British national had filed an application in the Special Court in Mumbai l in this regard last year and sought pardon in the case.

Media reports said the Special Court in Mumbai has given approval. Purvi Modi has divulged the details of her bank accounts and assets and a Trust which includes a flat in Mumbai worth 19.5 crore, two flats in New York worth Rs 220 crore, two accounts in Swiss banks with Rs 270 crore, one flat in London worth Rs 62 crore and one bank account in Mumbai with Rs 1.92 crore, said an NDTV report.

Nirav Modi's sister Purvi Modi told the court that she was accused of only a minor role in the case by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and cooperated with the probe by providing all the information and documents.

The report said ED also supported Purvi Modi and her husband's application on the condition that they would reveal all the facts of the case in their knowledge and in their individual capacity.
