Turkey confirms 1,368 new COVID-19 cases, 149,435 in total

Ankara/Xinhua/UNI: Turkey on Sunday confirmed 1,368 new COVID-19 cases and 44 more deaths in the past 24 hours, according to Turkish Health Minister Fahrettin Koca.

The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Turkey rose to 149,435, while the death toll surged to 4,140, Koca tweeted.

A total of 1,825 patients recovered in the last 24 hours, the minister noted.

Turkey conducted a total of 35,369 tests for coronavirus in the last 24 hours, bringing the overall number of tests carried out so far to 1,624,994, he stated.

The minister said that 109,962 patients have recovered in Turkey since the outbreak, while 914 patients are being treated at the intensive care units.

Turkey reported the first COVID-19 case in the country on March 11.
