Islamabad/IBNS: Top Jaish-e-Mohammed commander Maulana Abdul Aziz Esar, who frequently threatened to disintegrate India into parts, was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Pakistan's Bahawalpur on June 2, media reports said.

Abdul died of heart attack as per the Jaish cadre message but the cause of his death is not revealed by police.

He was buried at the Markaz of JeM headquarters in Bahawalpur.

Abdul last month threatened to carve out Jammu and Kashmir from India.

After India conducted Operation Sindoor, Abdul had threatened to infiltrate terrorists into India.

A fierce proponent of Ghazwa-e-Hind, Abdul in a threat had said India would meet the fate of the Soviet Union.

For those who are not aware, Ghazwa-e-Hind is an Islamic eschatological concept found in some interpretations of Hadith literature, which refers to a prophesied battle or campaign against India that will result in the spread of Islamic rule.

Abdul's death is the second such mysterious incident in recent times.

On May 17, top Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist Saifullah Khalid was killed by unidentified assailants in Pakistan's Sindh.

The strange killings took place after the Indian Armed Forces conducted Operation Sindoor on the intervening night of May 6 and 7 to bust nine terror camps in Pakistan to avenge the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.

The Indian government has claimed over 100 terrorists were killed in the military action.
