Russian President Putin to visit Uzbekistan from Oct 18

Tashkent, Oct 17 (IBNS)  Beginning Oct 18, at the invitation of the President of  Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Russian President Vladimir Putin will pay a state visit to Uzbekistan.

In continuation of regular political dialogue, the heads of states will exchange views on the state of Uzbekistan – Russia multifaceted relations, discuss prospects for further strengthening strategic partnership and alliance, expanding mutually beneficial cooperation, practical implementation of new joint projects and programs in various fields.

The agenda also includes current international issues, including ensuring stability and security in the region, promoting the peace process in Afghanistan.

Within the framework of the state visit of the President of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Uzbekistan, a joint Educational Forum and Uzbekistan – Russia Interregional Cooperation Forum will be held for the first time, as well as a launching ceremony of construction of a nuclear power station in Uzbekistan will be held.

Following the summit, it is planned to adopt the Joint Statement of the Heads of States, sign the Economic Cooperation Program for 2019-2024, the Cooperation Program in Cultural and Humanitarian Sphere for 2019-2021, agreements on establishment and operation of branches of the leading universities of Russia in Uzbekistan, roadmaps on creation of Suffa International Radio Astronomy Observatory and a number of other important bilateral documents.

During the visit, it is also planned to conclude investment and trade contracts between regions and business circles of Uzbekistan and Russia.
