An armed attack by unidentified people in Pakistan's Kot Magsi region on Tuesday left at least two people killed and seven others injured, media reports said.

Levies officials told Dawn News that the incident occurred when armed men riding motorcycles opened fire with automatic weapons on a tractor-trolley carrying residents of Jhal Mangi.

They rushed to the site and removed the injured and deceased to the hospital.

The condition of three of the injured people is said to be serious.

They are likely to be shifted to Quetta for treatment.

The attackers fled the spot after the incident.

Levies officials told Dawn News the motive appears to be an old enmity, though an investigation is underway.
