Middle East Crisis: Iran Embassy in India thanks Indians for support

The Iranian Embassy in India has thanked the Indian public for showing interest in providing humanitarian assistance to people affected by the ongoing conflict in Iran.

However, the embassy said it is currently facing technical difficulties in accepting donations through online banking platforms.

In a post on X, the Embassy expressed gratitude to Indians for their support. “Due to some reported difficulties in transferring funds to the Embassy’s account, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to our dear Indian brothers and sisters for their continued support,” the post read.

The embassy also urged people not to use online payment platforms such as GPay for donations at the moment.

“We are currently working to resolve the issue. In the meantime, please note the following: Kindly do not use GP, as it is currently not functioning for this purpose. Cash donations may be made directly at the Embassy,” the post added.

The conflict in the Middle East escalated on February 28 after the United States and Israel carried out strikes on Tehran. Iran later launched retaliatory attacks targeting several Gulf nations in the following days.

India and Iran share a millennia-old history of interactions. The contemporary relationship continues to draw strength from these historical and civilisational ties and has further grown through high-level exchanges, commercial cooperation, cultural engagement, and strong people-to-people connections, according to the website of the Indian Embassy in Iran.
