Nairobi, Oct 10 (IBNS): A bus crashed in Kenya and left at least 50 people killed on Wednesday, media reports said.

The bus was traveling from Kenyan capital Nairobi to Kisumu when it veered off the road, reports said.

Police fear that several people might be still trapped in the wreckage.

"The roof of the bus was ripped off," a local official told BBC.

Police said the accident took place as the driver of the bus lost control over the vehicle.

The injured have been taken to Fort Ternan dispensary and Muhoroni Sub-County Hospital for treatment, reported Daily Nation.
