Rabat, Mar 15 (Xinhua/UNI) The Parliamentary Union of Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (PUIC) reaffirmed Thursday in Rabat its solidarity with the Palestinian people.

The pledge was made at the 14th session of the PUIC conference held in Morocco on March 11-14.

The parliament members asserted in the final declaration their solidarity with the Palestinian people towards "the recognition of their legitimate rights in establishing their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital, in line with the relevant UN resolutions."

The declaration also condemned Israel's "daily aggressions and violations" against the Palestinian people, calling on the UN and its agencies to provide necessary protection for the Palestinians as well as their cultural and architectural landmarks in the occupied territories.

They also called for action to counter extremist and bigoted discourses, rejecting the establishment of any links between terrorism and Islam and Muslims.

The declaration emphasized the dire need, and the political and strategic need to respect the territorial and national integrity of states to preserve their stability, and to abstain from any kind of interference in their domestic affairs.
