A Pakistani woman and her daughter were stabbed to death in Gizri area of Karachi in the name of 'honour' on Friday, media reports said.

Police told Dawn News Kulsoom, 43, and her daughter Maryam, 11, were stabbed and killed by her husband, Samiullah.

South Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Syed Asad Raza tod the newspaper that the double murder appeared to be an “honour” killing.

According to reports, the suspect has been arrested and the knife used in the crime has been seized.

Police have resgistered a case against the suspect following a complaint by the victim’s brother Faisal Khan.

DIG Raza said the suspect had “confessed” to the crime.

The victims were rushed to  the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre where they were pronounced dead.
