Eight killed in road accident in central Kuwait

Kuwait City, May 27 (Xinhua/UNI) At least eight people were killed and one injured in an early Monday road accident in central Kuwait, the Kuwait Fire Service Directorate (KFSD) said in a statement Monday.

The tragedy happened after three cars collided in Kabd area about 35 km from Kuwait City, capital of Kuwait, when a crowd of people gathered to help, KFSD said.

Afterwards, a speeding four wheel-drive vehicle plowed into the crowd of people, resulting in a number of deaths and injuries, it added.
Fire brigades and ambulances rushed to the scene and transported the victims to hospitals.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
