Cairo, Mar 10 (Xinhua/UNI) Egypt offered its condolences to the families of the victims of an Ethiopian Airlines (ET) plane crash that occurred earlier on Sunday.

Egyptian Foreign Ministry said in a statement that Egypt extended its deepest condolences to the families of those who lost their lives on the Ethiopian plane, including a number of Egyptian citizens.

The Egyptian embassy in Addis Ababa is cooperating with the Ethiopian authorities to follow up the latest developments and provide necessary support and aid for the victims' families, the ministry added.

Earlier in the day, the Nairobi-bound Ethiopian Airlines flight, Boeing 737, crashed near Addis Ababa, killing all 157 aboard.
