Denver school shooting leaves 7 injured, two suspects in custody - Police

Washington, May 8 (Sputnik/UNI) Seven people have been injured in a school shooting near the Colorado state capital of Denver and two suspects have been taken into police custody, Douglas County Undersheriff Holly Nicholson Kluth said in a press conference.

"We have seven confirmed injured, possibly eight," Kluth said on Tuesday.


Kluth said numerous shots were fired during the incident as police arrived on the scene and ran into the building. She was unable to confirm if there any fatalities at the moment.


Earlier in the day, the Sheriff's Office said via Twitter that two people sustained injuries in an apparent shooting at STEM School Highlands Ranch south of the state capital of Denver.


Sheriff deputies responded to a call of shots fired at the school 1353 hrs local time (5:53 pm GMT).
