An Australian couple has been charged with five counts of bestiality after they allegedly engaged in a series of sexual acts involving dogs.

The accused were identified as Crystal May Hoare, 37, and Jay Wade Veenstra, 28.

These incidents allegedly took place on October 18, 2021, as well as on March 19, May 17, June 6 and October 25, 2022, all within the Sarina region, reports New York Post.

The incidents, which reportedly involved two dogs, were reportedly captured on video.

Following their arrest in July 2023, the couple were granted bail while being held at a watch house facility, reports the newspaper.

The legal proceedings have been adjourned, with a committal mention set to take place later this year.

As per Australian laws, if the couple is found guilty then they can face a potential prison sentence of up to seven years.
