Mamata Banerjee flags off Kolkata-Digha helicopter service, becomes first passenger

Kolkata, Dec 23 (IBNS): West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday flagged off a helicopter service which will connect Kolkata and seaside resort city Digha in West Bengal's East Medinipur district.

After launching the service and completing her three-day-trip to East Medinipur district, Mamata Banerjee returned Kolkata from Digha by helicopter.

The journey will take approximately 40-45 minutes  and it will cost around 2000 rupees per person for the trip.

The helicopter service will be available for tourists on every Saturday.

Apart from this, Banerjee also inaugurated a ropeway  at Amarbati Park in Digha which will move along the Lake inside the park.
