Kolkata, Oct 4 (IBNS): On a decent day for golf, Udayjit Bhalotia overcame a tough start to end up at the top of the leaderboard with a four-over par 74 and lead by two at the halfway stage of Tolly Juniors Open 2016 being played at Tollygunge Club here.

Gurshaan Singh Grewal is placed second two strokes behind at 76 followed by Md Rohit tied in third place with Sreenjoy Majumdar a further stroke behind. Jashan Shah completed the top five places after he carded a 78.

Souvik Nayak leads Category B along with Ayush Jha as both endured a tough day at the office and ended with with a score of 81. They lead by three strokes over Aditesh Bajaj who in turn leads Anish Rajak by a further four strokes.

Joysurjo Dey staked his claim to the final Category C title for the season after taking a huge six-stroke lead over Pinku Das after carding a steady four-over par 74. Aarnav Sharma is placed third at 82 followed by Subhasish Das a further two strokes behind.

Manhar Bajoria took a four stroke lead in Category D over Assam’s Maitreya Milan Saikia. Manhar carded 76 while Maitreya Milan shot an 80 to finish the day in front of Garv Lakhmani (81).

In the Girl’s events, Aashera Sethi took a seven stroke lead over Sushnata Deb in Category A&B combined while Sanaya Tulsyan leads in Category B followed by Yashodhra Bhalotia. Tarushi Jain (101) and Fizza Ali (102) are separated by a single stroke at the top of Category C while Sinjini Mukherjee and Karishma Samadder are locked at the top of Category D leaderboard at 93.

The open category E is led by Anshul Mishra (39) followed by Prashant Agarwal two strokes behind (41).
