Sreenjoy Majumder on top at the IGU Feeder & Sub Junior Tour Final 2016

Kolkata, Oct 25 (IBNS): Local lad Sreenjoy Majumder took the first day honours at the IGU Feeder & Sub Junior Tour Final 2016 after carding a seven-over 79 to lead by one at the Par – 72 Royal Calcutta Golf Club here.

Hargobind Singh and Ahaan Nath are locked in second place after both shot eight-over 80. A further stroke behind at 81 is Jay Vora followed by Aryan Agarwal at ten-over 82.


The highlight of the day was sixth placed Rachit Mankoti’s perfect ace on the 161-yard second hole. Rachit’s hole-in-one was celebrated by his playing partners, leader Sreenjoy and tenth-place Yuveraj Dhara.

Sreenjoy, who teed off from the 10th hole started with a bogey and would go on to make three more by the time he was through 15 holes. He took the turn at three-over for the day with a birdie on the par 4 16th.

In an otherwise steady round, Sreenjoy dropped managed to drop three strokes on the par 4 3rd hole before a striking back with a birdie on the next hole. A further two bogeys followed on the 6th and the 8th holes before he closed his first round with a par.

The second day will see 24 Category C Boys tee off to compete for the title over three rounds.
