Formula 1 legend Michael Schumacher has remained away from the public spotlight for several years following his devastating skiing accident, but a piece of happy news has now emerged from his family.

David Schumacher, the nephew of the seven-time Formula 1 world champion and son of six-time Grand Prix winner Ralf Schumacher, has announced that he and his wife, Vivien, are expecting their first child.

The couple shared the news on social media with a heartwarming photograph featuring baby shoes, a teddy bear and their reflection as they kissed in front of a picturesque lake and mountain backdrop.

Alongside the photograph, the couple wrote in a joint Instagram post: “Love made us two. Life is making us three.”

David and Vivien tied the knot on February 28, 2026, in an intimate wedding ceremony.

The announcement has brought a celebratory moment for the Schumacher family, with the arrival of the couple’s first child in the upcoming months is set to add another new chapter to the famous motorsport dynasty.
