India fought against heavy rain and dramatic situations resulting due to it to beat Bangladesh by seven wickets to seal the series 2-0 in Kanpur on Tuesday

Three days of the match were lost due to rain but skipper Rohit Sharma and his men put up a desperate show to win the second match by 95 runs.

The Test was once looking towards heading towards a draw but the bowlers turned things around on the fourth and fifth day.

A damp pitch condition made Bangladesh struggle at 233in their first innings.

India’s reply saw them declare on 285 for 9, securing a slender 52-run lead.

Riding on Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, and Jasprit Bumrah's heroics, India unleashed a ruthless bowling performance, to bundle up Bangladesh for just 146.

India lost two quick wickets to skipper Sharma (8) and
Shubman Gill (6) while  Yashasvi Jaiswal added 51 runs to help India reach the winning target.

Virat Kohli remained unbeaten at 29.Rishabh Pant contributed four runs.

For Bangladesh, Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Taijul Islam managed to pick up a couple of wickets, but the result was never in doubt.

The series victory bolsters India’s standings in the ICC World Test Championship, where they now hold a commanding lead with a 74.24% PCT.

Bangladesh, on the other hand, dropped to seventh place, struggling with a 34.37% PCT after consecutive defeats.

India’s journey towards the WTC final seems well on track, while Bangladesh will need to regroup after this challenging series loss.
