London, Oct 12 (IBNS): Sportswear brand New Balance has severed its ties with tainted English all-rounder and former Test vice-captain of the national cricket team Ben Stokes, reports said.

Stokes was arrested on Sep 26 for causing 'bodily harm' following an altercation near a Bristol nightclub.

New Balance, which served as Stokes' personal sponsor, said in a statement that it "does not condone behaviour that does not match our brand culture and values".

According to the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), Stokes will not travel to Australia on Oct 28 along with the rest of the team to participate in the upcoming Ashes series.
