Cook wins toss, elects to bat first

Chennai, Dec 16 (IBNS): England skipper Alaistair Cook may have a tough time winning matches in India, but he's finding his luck during the coin toss as he won another and elected to bat first here on Friday, first day of the fifth and the final Test match against India.

England have already lost two wickets in the 14 overs of play which took place during the morning session.

Keaton Jennings fell early for 1 as he edged one back to the keeper off Ishant Sharma, who made his comeback in India colours after a long gap.

Cook was picked up by Ravindra Jadeja for 10 as he too edged one to first slip.

For England, Liam Dawson made his debut, while India opted for Amit Mishra in place of Jayant Yadav.

So far England have put on 27 runs for the loss of two wickets.
