Cairn India to sponsor Rajasthan Women's Hockey Cup

Jaipur, April 15 (IBNS): Cairn India, the co-sponsor of India’s national hockey team, held the first 'Cairn India Rajasthan Women's Hockey Cup 2014' at Banasthali Vidyapeeth here having participation of women hockey teams across Rajasthan.

The tournament, scheduled from Apr 8 to Apr 12, 2014, was played at Hockey Ground, Banasthali Campus, Tonk, Rajasthan. 

Women hockey teams from eight districts across Rajasthan- Banasthali, Jaipur, Ganganagar, Churu, Ajmer, Hanumangarh, Alwar and Sawai Madhopur - participated in this knockout tournament.

Cairn India, is associated with Hockey to provide impetus to the national sport.

Shobha Singh, Vice President of Hockey India, was present at the opening ceremony of the tournament to encourage the girls who are potential Indian national team players.
