Speaking from Fox Studios in Sydney, Producer Lisa Duff says, "Brett Lee is well-known and very popular in India and as a result we have received quite a lot of interest from Indian distributors. We are entertaining proposals from Indian distributors who recognize the creative and commercial worth of unINDIAN and can take it to a wide Indian audience with unique and creative marketing tools and strategy. We will be choosing our Indian distributor from the proposals we are receiving and will decide by second week of August.”

The film makers are planning a big release of the soundtrack along with announcing the Indian distributors at a Bollywood style party to be hosted by Brett Lee and Australia India Film Fund in Mumbai, with major Bollywood stars that are friends/fans of Brett lee on the guest list.

International Sales & Marketing Consultant, Kathleen Drumm, who is a former senior executive at Screen Australia and has spear-headed delegations and interactions with the Indian industry via the Goa Film Bazaar and Ficci Frames in Mumbai, said “unINDIAN has remarkable potential in the Indian market to reach a broad, upwardly mobile audience of men and women. unINDIAN is an Australian romantic comedy that follows the chequered path of Aussie bloke Will as he attempts to woo the gorgeous Indian woman Meera who lives in Sydney with her daughter.  

 

Alongside the cricket superstar Lee and internationally acclaimed actress Tannishtha Chatterjee (Bhopal: A Prayer of Rain, Siddharth, Brick Lane), the film’s illustrious support cast includes John Howard, Tiriel Mora, Maya Sathimoorthy, Arka Das, Sarah Roberts, Adam Dunn, Nicholas Brown, Kumu Merani, Bollywood stars Supriyaji Pathak Kapur and Akash Kurana, Pallavi Sharda.
