Chennai/INBNS: Tamil TV star Chitra's husband was on Friday questioned by the police for the second consecutive day after the actor's mother accused him of beating her daughter to death.

However, media reports quoting police sources claimed that the autopsy report revealed that Chitra had died by committing suicide.

The police had earlier said that the actor was facing some financial problems owing to which she might have committed suicide.

Commissioner of Police Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal said, "We are investigating the cause."

The family is yet to file a fresh FIR in the case with their charges against Chitra's husband.

The 29-year-old actor cum TV host was found dead in a hotel outside Chennai on Wednesday.

Chitra got married recently and was staying with her husband at the hotel near Chennai.

She checked into the hotel on Tuesday late night after returning from a shoot.

Chitra was a part of an ongoing popular television serial called "Pandian Stores" on Vijay TV.
