SRK’s endorsement comes as Homebound, directed by Neeraj Ghaywan, continues its successful run of special screenings across major global cities, drawing praise from audiences and industry veterans alike.
Recently, Karan Johar joined the London leg of the film’s international campaign at a special screening hosted by filmmaker Gurinder Chadha. Lead actors Ishaan Khatter and Vishal Jethwa were also present.
Sharing photos from the event, Karan wrote, “Made it to the London leg of our @homeboundthefilm campaign and it was a night filled with the warmest love, familiar and new faces, and a whole lot of support for our film.”
Homebound premiered at the Cannes Film Festival on May 21, 2025, in the prestigious Un Certain Regard section.
It was released in Indian theatres on September 26, 2025, before arriving on Netflix on November 21.
The film stars Ishaan Khatter, Vishal Jethwa and Janhvi Kapoor in a tightly wound narrative exploring a dysfunctional family confined to a single location during a crisis.
Its exploration of trauma, simmering tensions and buried secrets has been widely praised for its emotional depth and cinematic restraint.
India selected Homebound as its official entry for the Best International Feature Film category at the 2026 Oscars, where it has been lauded for its powerful performances and gripping storytelling.
