Mumbai, June 24 (IBNS): Omung Kumar's next film based on the life of Sarbjit Singh has been much spoken about both for the storyline and the cast.

Already having signed on actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to play Singh’s sister Dalbir, Randeep Hooda has now been roped in to play his protagonist.

The movie is produced by Sandeep Singh and Zeeshan Quadri.

Commenting on this, Sandeep Singh, producer of the film said, “Yes it is true, Randeep Hooda will be playing the part of Sarbjit Singh in the movie. He has given outstanding performances in the past, and we are very confident that he will do justice to this role. I am sure the audience will look forward to seeing Aishwarya and Randeep playing brother and sister in the film.”

The story of Sarbjit Singh garnered the interest of every Indian during his trial and after.

Having being convicted by the Supreme Court of Pakistan for a series of attacks in Lahore and Faisalabad that killed 14 bystanders in 1990, his journey was highly debated in India and Pakistan.

During the sentence, his sister Dalbir Kaur attempted to prove his innocence, but she failed.

This movie is the directors attempt to showcase the story of Dalbir’s struggle, and her defeat for not being able to bring her brother back to India alive.
