Pop music icon Prince dies at 57

New York, Apr 21 (IBNS): Pop music icon Prince Rogers Nelson, who is popularly known as Prince, died on Thursday, media reports said.
The musician was 57.
 
According to reports, he died at his compound in Minnesota.
 
Police have started an investigation into the matter.
 
Authorities told CNN that the investigation is happening at Prince's Paisley Park studios.
 
"Deputies are on scene of a death investigation at Paisley Park in Chanhassen. More info to follow. -814," Carver County Sheriff's Office tweeted.
 
Prince was an American singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and actor, ruling the popular music industry for over three decades. 
 
Prince was renowned as an innovator and was widely known for his eclectic work, flamboyant stage presence, and wide vocal range. He was widely regarded as the pioneer of Minneapolis sound. His music combined rock, R&B, soul, funk, hip hop, disco, psychedelia, jazz, and pop.
