Off Campus star Mika Abdalla splits from fiancé Jake Short: Report

Los Angeles/IBNS: As actor Mika Abdalla shot to overnight fame following the success of Off Campus, curiosity about her personal life has also surged among fans.

Amid the buzz surrounding the Prime Video hit, reports suggest Abdalla has parted ways with her actor-fiancé Jake Short, according to Us Weekly.

“Due to recent interest in Mika’s personal life, it would feel remiss not to address that she and Jake are no longer together,” Abdalla's spokesperson told Us Weekly.

“They continue to support each other and remain on friendly terms, and kindly ask for privacy and respect.”

How Mika Abdalla And Jake Short Met

Abdalla and Short first met while filming Hulu's teen comedy Sex Appeal in 2021, which was released the following year. The pair played onscreen love interests Avery and Larson, and their friendship soon blossomed into a real-life romance.

The couple remained together for nearly five years and got engaged in 2025, according to reports and statements from Short's manager.

Off Campus Success Propels Abdalla's Career

On the professional front, Abdalla is set to take centre stage in the second season of Off Campus, which has earned praise for its young-adult romance storyline and steamy moments.

The upcoming season will shift its focus to Allie Hayes and Dean Di Laurentis, portrayed by Mika Abdalla and Stephen Kalyn respectively.

Meanwhile, Abdalla and Kalyn, whose sizzling chemistry in Off Campus won over fans worldwide, are set to reunite for a new three-episode audio romance titled Rent Free.

According to a report by Variety, the duo will recreate their onscreen magic in the upcoming project on the Quinn audio platform, further fueling excitement among fans eager to see them collaborate again.
