Naushad Ali considered me his younger sister: Lata

Mumbai, Dec 25 (IBNS) Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar on Thursday remembered late musician Naushad Ali on his 95th birth anniversary.
"Greetings, today is legendary musician Naushad Ali's birth anniversary," she tweeted.
 
She wrote that she has worked with him from 1948 and that she is missing those days on the occasion.
 
She said that Naushad was not only a magnificent musician but was equally a very good human being.
 
She posted that Naushad considered her his younger sister.
 
Mangeshkar also posted a link of her favourite song with the musician on Twitter.
 
Naushad was one of the foremost music directors for Hindi films, and is particularly known for popularising the use of classical music in films.
 
His first film as an independent music director was Prem Nagar in 1940. 
 
His first musical success film was Rattan (1944), which he followed up with 35 silver jubilee hits, 12 golden jubilee and 3 diamond jubilee mega successes. 
 
Naushad was conferred the Dadasaheb Phalke Award and the Padma Bhushan in 1982 and 1992, respectively, for his contribution to the Bollywood film industry.
