Actress Margot Robbie, whose Barbie is setting new records globally, is expected to make roughly $50 million in salary and box office bonuses for the neon-coloured movie.

The movie, which was released on July 21 in a direct Box Office clash with Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer, is also produced by Robbie.

“Barbie” director and co-writer Greta Gerwig will also likely receive bonuses because of the film’s outsized success, Variety reported.

“Barbie” has earned an astonishing $526.3 million at the domestic box office since it opened a month ago, as well as $657.6 million at the international box office, the magazine reported.

Barbie is currently the second highest-grossing release in the history of Warner Bros.

It is just behind “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2.”

Based on the Barbie fashion dolls by Mattel, it is the first live-action Barbie film after numerous computer-animated films and specials.

The film follows Barbie (Margot Robbie) and Ken (Ryan Gosling) on a journey of self-discovery following an existential crisis.
