Yoga guru Iyengar passes away

Pune, Aug 20 (IBNS) Legendary yoga guru BKS Iyengar died at a hospital here early on Wednesday morning. He was 95.

Honoured with Padma Vibhushan, Iyengar was survived by a son and daughter.

According to sources, he was admitted to a city hospital on August 12 with complaints of acute breathlessness and palpitation after keeping unwell at home for almost three weeks.

He was put on dialysis after his condition deteriorated two days back due to renal failure.

Known as one of the foremost yoga teachers globally, Iyengar had written many books on yoga practice and philosophy.
