VK Singh advised me payments to insurgents : Tarun Gogoi

| | Jan 25, 2016, at 06:27 pm
New Delhi, June 25 (IBNS) Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has alleged that former Eastern Army Command Chief General VK Singh advised him 'financial payments to insurgents'.

He made the startling allegation in an interview to a national daily

Singh is presently the minister of state for external affairs in the NDA government.

"What advice is the question...some financial payments. How could I give it? His advice was not to deal firmly (with insurgents). His advice was different," Gogoi said.

He said he had refused to accept the advice.

"Wild suggestions but I didn't want it. Frankly, he suggested that they can be bought back…Nobody can be bought. What's the use of giving it ? Now he will deny…that’s why I am not talking about the financial part …" Gogoi said in his interview.
