Uttar Pradesh: Woman sets herself, two kids ablaze

Muzaffarnagar, May 17 (UNI) A woman set herself and her two children ablaze in the Budhana area of this district in Uttar Pradesh on Friday.

According to police sources, Naseema, wife of Jabbar, a resident of Umarpur village in the Budhana Kotwali area, locked her three children--Armaan (10), Ayesha (7) and one-and-half year old Isha in a room and set herself and the children ablaze.

All the three children were killed whereas Naseema sustained critical burn injuries.

Sources added that the woman was rushed to a Meerut hospital in a critical state.

Jabbar does a business of clothes in Ahmedabad, sources added.

Prima facie probe revealed that the woman was facing mental health issues and hence, she took such a drastic step.

Further investigation is underway.
