Uttar Pradesh: Constable suspended for involvement in illicit liquor trade

Balrampur, Jun 1 (UNI) A police constable, who was found involved in illicit liquor trade in this district's Sadulla Nagar area, was suspended and directions of departmental inquiry against him were given, police said on Saturday.

Prakash Shukla, who was found to be involved in illegal liquor trade and was deployed at the Sadulla Nagar police station, has been suspended.

The SP said that the police had busted a factory making illicit liquor during one of its raids against illegal alcohol, some days back.

Three women peddlers had been arrested in this connection while 150 litres of illegal liquor and large quantities of 'lahan' had been recovered.

Arya said that meanwhile, police received a complaint that Head Constable Ajay Prakash Shukla, deployed at the Sadulla Nagar police station was involved in this illegal trade.

On the basis of the complaint, the Head Constable has been suspended and directions for departmental inquiry have been given against him.
