UKLF militant arrested in Manipur, arms recovered from Moreh town

Guwahati, Oct 5 (IBNS) : An alleged hardcore militant belonging to the United Kuki Liberation Front (UKLF) was arrested by security forces in Manipur’s Kakching district on Wednesday, officials said on Thursday.

According to reports based on intelligence input, Manipur police had launched operation at Serou Lamkhai area in Kakching district and arrested a self styled sergeant of UKLF, identified as Kamkholun Guite.

Security personnel recovered a 9 mm pistol with a magazine and other ammunition from his possession.

Meanwhile, Assam Rifles recovered recovered one 9 mm Glock pistol and two magazines from a vehicle near Moreh town along the Myanmar border.

Security personnel also arrested a person in connection with it.
