Three Lashkar-e-Toiba militants arrested from Srinagar
Srinagar, Apr 21 (IBNS): Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested three Lashkar-e-Toiba militants from the Srinagar city during the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday, police official said.
Reliable sources said that three close associates of banned outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba were apprehended after police party stopped a vehicle near Lal Mandi Srinagar.
The official claimed that the trios are active militants affiliated with Lashkar-e-Toiba. He added that one of them was involved in providing two grenades to a Pakistan administered Kashmir under trial prisoner Waheed Noor Khan at court complex in June last year.
Pertinently, last year a Pakistan administered Kashmir under trial prisoner and a cop were killed after a blast inside a police vehicle near Sopore in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on way to Central Jail from Court.
Police later identified the trio as Ubaid Untoo , Muhammad Yawar Bhat both residents of Sopore town and Altaf Hussin Lone of Kalaroos Kupwara.
“A Chinese pistol, six live rounds, two magazines, a GPS and four hand grenades have been recovered from their possession,” sources added.
