Three killed, 8 injured in Uttar Pradesh road mishap

Jhansi, May 13 (UNI) Three people were killed and eight others sustained injuries when an unidentified vehicle rammed into a passenger-laden taxi in the Sipri Bazar police station area in this district of Uttar Pradesh, police said on Monday.

According to the police, an unidentified vehicle hit a passenger-laden taxi at a place named Gaushala at the Jhansi-Gwalior road at around 0200 hrs late night.


Upon receiving information regarding the mishap from the passers-by, police reached the spot and admitted the injured to the hospital.


The injured have been identified as Phoolvati (55), Vandana (28) and Nanna (60) who were killed on the spot.


The dead bodies have been sent for postmortem.


It is being said that all the people occupying the taxi had gone to Datiya to prepare food in a wedding and while returning from there, they became the victims of the mishap.
