The BJP will have no walkover in Parliament: Rahul Gandhi
New Delhi, June 1 (IBNS): Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday said that despite having 52 MPs in the Lok Sabha, his party will not give a 'walk over' to the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party.
The BJP completely dominated the Lok Sabha polls recently and won 303 seats alone.
On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took oath as the PM of the country for the second consecutive term.
"The Congress Party may have just 52 Lok Sabha members, but we will work together like a pride of brave hearted lions to protect our Constitution & Institutions & to fearlessly do our duty as the leading Opposition party. The BJP will have no walkover in Parliament," Gandhi tweeted.
In a meeting with all elected MPs, senior Congress leader Sonia Gandhi has been elected as the party's parliamentary party leader.
In the meeting, Sonia said: "We thank the 12.13 Cr voters for reposing faith in the Congress Party."
Congress' top brass- Rahul Gandhi, Ghulam Nabi Azad, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh- are also present in the meeting.

Thanking the voters and Congress workers, Congress president Rahul Gandhi said: "Every Congress member must remember that each one of you is fighting for the Constitution, for every person in India irrespective of the color of his skin or belief’."
After the Lok Sabha poll debacle, Rahul, despite disapproval of his party leaders, is insisting on resigning as the Congress chief.
Suffering a massive defeat in the hands of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Congress won just 52 seats across the country.
