Supreme Court to decide whether Justice Loya's death to be probed independently
New Delhi, Apr 19 (IBNS): The Supreme Court on Thursday will decide whether the death of Justice BH Loya should be probed independently, media reports said.
A bench headed by Chief Justice of India, Dipak Misra, will decide whether an independent investigation is to be held or not.
Loya died due to heart attack when he was hearing Sohrabuddin Sheikh murder case in which Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president Amit Shah was accused.
The judge who replaced Loya acquitted Shah of all charges citing lack of evidences.
The death of the judge came into the light after The Caravan magazine published an interview in which Loya’s sister Anuradha Biyani, and father Harikrishan alleged a foul play.
The publication cites various alleged manipulations in records on the night of Loya’s death.
However, Justice Loya’s son Anuj rubbished the report, saying that he was convinced that his father died of a heart attack.
He also said that his family does not have any doubt about the “integrity of investigative agencies”.
