Sidhu Moosewala murder: Punjab DGP says strong nexus between murder accused and terror groups
Chandigarh: In a fresh revelation in rapper-politician Sidhu Moosewala's murder case, Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav has said there is a strong nexus between the arrested accused and terror groups.
In a press conference held in Chandigarh, the top police official said, “There is a strong Nexus between terror groups and gangsters. ISI is exploiting this nexus.”
“ISI is exploiting this nexus,” he said, adding that the gangsters have claimed that "they are not anti-nationals.”
There are 35 accused in the Sidhu Moosewala case and 23 out of them have been arrested.
He said Deepak Mundi and two of his accomplices were arrested yesterday in a joint operation launched by Delhi police and Punjab police in the national capital's Rohini area.
All three arrested accused were directly in touch with Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar through the Signal app for the last few days.
Through his undisclosed sources, Goldy Brar had arranged money, shelter and weapons for them to eliminate a target, which was to be disclosed to them on the day of execution only.
A day after the new Punjab government lifted his security cover, Sidhu Moosewala was ambushed and shot down at Jawarharke village in Punjab's Mansa district.
On May 29, the 28-year-old rapper was driving a Mahindra Thar when his assailants showered bullets at his SUV, inflicting multiple bullet injuries.
