Sheikh Hasina to visit India on Sept 5, scheduled to meet President Murmu, PM Modi

Dhaka/New Delhi: Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will visit India on Sept 5 after a gap of three years.

" H.E. Sheikh Hasina, Prime Minister of People’s Republic Bangladesh will pay a State Visit to India on 05-08 September 2022. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina last visited New Delhi in October 2019," the Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement.

"During her visit, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will call on Hon’ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu and Hon’ble Vice President of India, Shri Jagdeep Dhankar and hold bilateral consultations with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar will call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina," read the statement.

During her stay in India, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is also likely to visit Ajmer.

In the recent years, both sides have sustained high level of engagement, including at the highest level.

"The forthcoming visit of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will further strengthen the multifaceted relationship between the two countries based on strong historical and cultural ties and mutual trust and understanding," read the statement issued by the MEA.
