Shaktiman was a soldier: Harish Rawat

New Delhi, Apr 20 (IBNS): Former Uttarakhand chief minister Harish Rawat on Wednesday called police horse Shaktiman, which died on Wednesday after struggling with its leg injury for more than two months, a 'soldier'.

"I am saddened by the death of the police horse Shaktiman which was injured during a BJP protest. Shaktiman was a soldier," Rawat tweeted.

Police horse Shaktiman, who was injured  during a protest by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Uttarakhand on Mar 14, died on Wednesday.

A leg of the horse was damaged and a prosthetic leg was given to it.

The horse was injured during a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) protest .

Congress leader RaJeev Shukla mourned the death of the horse and tweeted: "Sad to know that Shaktiman has died. If we human beings can't protect animal rights,from whom we will expect humanity & morality? #Shaktiman."
