Rainfall brings major respite from heat wave in Himachal

Shimla, Jun 12 (UNI) Rainfall lashed many parts of Himachal Pradesh last evening and on Wednesday morning giving major respite from the sweltering heatwave as Mercury came down three to four degree normal in the state.

In Mandi district Bijahi got 24 mm rainfall, Tissa in Chamba 22 mm, Keylong in Lahaul Spiti 21 mm, Kalpa in Kinnuar 18.6 mm, Bhuntar in Kullu 17 mm, Gohar in Mandi 16 mm, Banjar in Kullu 14 mm Manali and Sundernagar in Mandi 13 mm each, Janjehli and Seobagh 12 mm each.

Rainfall also occured at Jhandutta in Bilaspur, Sarhan and Fagu in Shimla, Dharmshala , Pandoh in Mandi, Karsog and Pooh in Kinnuar, Una, Kangra, Baijnath and Sujanpur Tira in Hamirpur.

The maximum temperature has witnessed a dip by five to six degrees below due to rainfall. There is partly cloudy weather.

The Met Office has forecast rain or thundershower at isolated parts of mid and high reaches in next 24 hrs and mainly dry weather in rest of the state.
