Rahul greets communities on New Year

New Delhi, Apr 8 (IBNS) Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi greeted people from different communities on their New Year on Friday.

A tweet fro Office of RG read, "Best wishes to everyone celebrating Ugadi, Gudi Padwa, Chaitra Sukladi, Navreh, Cheti Chand & Sajibu Cheiraoba."

A host of communities are celebrating their New Year on Friday

Ugadi is the Telegu New Year. Gudi Pawda is the Marathi equivalent. Chaitra Sukladi is the Hindu New Year. Kashmiri pandits celebrates Nevrah to usher in the New Year. The Sindhi's replicate it on Chet-i-chand, while Sajibu Cheiraoba is celebrated by the Meiteis of Manipur.
