Rahul Gandhi sarcastically tweets on Modi's black money promise

New Delhi, Jan 25 (IBNS): Congress President Rahul Gandhi has put up a sarcastic tweet to virtually mock Prime Minister Narendra Modi's promise of bringing back black money from foreign countries.

Rahul asked whether the PM, who recently visited Switzerland, has brought some black money with him in the plane.

The tweet reads:" Dear PM, Welcome back from SWITZERLAND. Quick reminder about your promise on BLACK MONEY. Youth in India were wondering if you got any back with you in your plane?"

Modi, during his election campaigns in 2014, had promised to recover all black money from foreign countries. He had also said the recovered black money will be distributed among all Indians as Rs. 15 lakh for each.

Rahul is often seen to be critical of Modi's policy of demonetisation, which is acknowledged by the central government as a step to curb black money in the country.

Modi has recently visited Davos, Switzerland, to attend the World Economic Forum 2018.

He even addressed the plenary as the first Indian PM in 20 years.
