President greets nation on the eve of Guru Nanak Jayanti

New Delhi, Nov 24 (IBNS) President Pranab Mukherjee on Tuesday sent his greetings to fellow countrymen on the eve of birthday of Guru Nanak Devji.

In a message, the President has said, “On the joyous occasion of the birthday of Guru Nanak Devji, I convey greetings and good wishes to all my fellow countrymen. "

"Guru Nanak Devji believed that service of man is supreme. He called upon all people to lead a moral and righteous life," Mukherjee said.

"May each one of us imbibe the revered Guru’s noble teachings of brotherhood, compassion and love. Let us dedicate ourselves to the service of the downtrodden," he said.


Mukherjee said: "As we celebrate Guru Nanak Devji’s birthday, let us erase suspicion and hatred from our hearts and banish all violence from thought, word and deed.”
