Astana, Jun 9 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday met Chinese and Uzbek President Xi Jinping and Shavkat Mirziyoyev respectively and discussed bi-lateral ties with them.

Tweeting pictures from the meeting, PM Modi said, "Met President Xi Jinping. We spoke about India-China relations and how to further improve ties."

In another tweet, the Prime Minister spoke about his meeting with Mirziyoyev.

"Held talks with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. We discussed ways to boost India-Uzbekistan relations, especially economic cooperation," he tweeted.

The PM met the two leaders on sidelines of the SCO Summit in Astana, Kazakhstan.

Meanwhile, experts are viewing Li's meeting with Modi as a move to repair the already fragile Indo-China bond.

Following this meeting, Modi and Li are expected to meet again at the G20 summit next month in Hamburg, Germany, followed by the BRICS Summit in China in the month of September.
