Operation Black Rose : Mock drill by commandos in Delhi ahead of new year's eve

| | Dec 30, 2015, at 04:16 pm
New Delhi, Dec 30 (IBNS) little after 10 pm on Tuesday, commandos swarmed two prominent South Delhi malls, a shopping complex in Connaught Place and a five-star hotel in Nehru Place, causing a stir and anxiety among the people until it turned out to be a security drill, codenamed "Operation Black Rose".

Reports said the four locations were evacuated in the anti-terror exercise, hours before the new year's eve to check preparedness ahead of celebrations.

Security agencies are also on alert days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached out to Pakistan and made a surprise stop at Lahore to greet Nawaz Sharif on his way home from Afghanistan.

Similar exercises are expected to happen in other metros like Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore and Kolkata as well.
